KTM released its new Freeride 250R to the U. Market this week and it will be showing up in dealers within the next month. KTM has taken the wraps off its all-new Freeride 2R two stroke. The motorcycle was especially developed for the beginner off-road riders or for those who want a fun motorcycle that can deal with. The chassis of the KTM FREERIDE E-XC features a very lightweight composite frame design combining top quality chrome-molybdenum steel with bolt-on forged aluminum sections. In contrast to the KTM FREERIDE 2F , the frame of the E-model has an open lower section, with the motor and massive aluminum skid plate functioning as stressed members.


Trials meets enduro with the new KTM FREERIDE 2F. A fuel-injecte state-of-the-art 2cc DOHC 4-stroke single ensures power is always available, allowing you to tackle the gnarliest of trails with the utmost of confidence. KTM offers three flavours of Freeride : the two-stroke 250R, the four-stroke 35 with the electric Freeride E coming soon.


We had an opportunity to test the two current models back-to-back at the MCIA event at Bevercotes and were stunned by the capability of both models. The heart of the Freeride 2R is the 250cc two-stroke engine. It is heavily based on the KTM 2XC-W power plant but with some serious changes, like a reduction in weight of 4.
