How to polish glass

Take your glass and hold it by the base above your steam source and at an angle—just don’t get it wet!


Once the inside of the bowl has steamed up, go ahead and gently polish the inside of your glass. Toothpaste has very fine abrasions and it and will start to remove the haze that the sandpaper leaves on the surface. Spread clear nail polish onto the scratch with the polish’s applicator brush.


You don’t need to spread the clear nail polish all around the scratch.

Let the nail polish set for an hour so the polish fills the glass scratch. Come back to the scratch and wipe away the clear nail polish with nail polish remover or acetone on a microfiber cloth. Wipe until the polish, and glass scratch , is completely removed. Clean off the glass.


Wash off the glass using a clean cloth, making sure the glass is clear of all debris. Dampen a microfiber cloth. Hold a clean, lint-free cloth under a faucet of lukewarm water.


Squeeze the cloth until no. Fill a spray bottle with water and use it to keep the area you are polishing damp. Glass is relatively easy to polish.

If you get polish stuck in the cracks around your windshiel you can use a soft toothbrush to get it out gently. You may need to go over the windshield several times with the glass polish to get it to the desired smoothness. This prevents the compound from drying out and creating more scratches.


After several minutes, set the sander or drill down and clean the glass with a soft brush and liquid dish soap.
