Zoo keeper for the day

Fantastic Days Out At The Zoo! Even Get The Chance To Feed Them! But, what if you have a particular passion for primates, a big cat craving or are more interested in the creatures from the deep, than an African savannah? Plus whatever surprises may come along.


Complete the daily tasks of a zookeeper and encounter a variety of endearing animals, from meeting mischievous meerkats, monkeys and reptiles to going behind the scenes at ZSL Whipsnade Zoo. Be a keeper for the day and get involved with preparing foo creating activities and cleaning the enclosures for the animals.

Zookeeper Introduction. What is a keeper for the day? How long does the zoo stay free? Age: You must be at least years old to participate in this experience. Complimentary entry to the zoo for the whole day.


Anyone aged – 17yrs must be accompanied by an adult 18yrs or over who is paying to participate in the same experience. This experience costs £3for one person or £7for two and lasts a full day from 8. Keeper for the day. Accompanying guests are given off their day ticket price and are welcome into the zoo from 10am.

We’re one of the only zoos in the UK to offer an entire day of one-to-one interaction with a Bristol Zoo Gardens keeper, allowing you to have an intimate experience and visit life in all our animal sections. Instead of seeing all of your favourite animals from a distance, this special day makes it possible for you to muck in with actual zoo keepers and see the inner workings of a zoo. The day includes lunch, a Zoo t-shirt and goody bag, as well as a special certificate celebrating your special day and is available to everyone over the age of 16.


For a donation of £98. This means for gift purchases, if the date has been left open by the purchaser, the gift recipient has months from date of purchase to contact the Zoo and attend the experience. Minimum age for participants is 18. Set on acres of lan we’re one of the only wildlife parks in the UK to offer a day of one-to-one interaction with a keeper , allowing you to experience life in all of our animal sections. In order to become a zoo keeper for a day at Drusillas Park, you only need to be minimum 6-years-old. There’s no maximum age because who wouldn’t like to feed penguins, meerkats and lemurs, right? Now more than ever, Dartmoor Zoo needs your support to help feed your favourite animals and fund conservation work here and around the world. In line with government advice, this experience has been postponed until further notice.

Please note any accompanying family or friends will be charged normal entrance price and will not be allowed access to the zoo until normal opening time at 10.


A keeper at West Midland Safari Park is celebrating with her colleagues, after becoming ‘top student’ on a national course for training zoo keepers. Kate Atkinson, 2 a carnivore keeper at the Safari Park, beat a hundred other animal keepers to gain a national award for her performance on the DMZAA (Diploma in the Management of Zoo and Aquarium Animals) course, which is run by Sparsholt. Our junior keeper experience is available to our younger visitors aged – years.


Due to COVID restrictions, this experience is only available as a half day experience in the mornings. If guests are taking part they must be from the same household. My nephew and niece both absolutely loved their experiences.


Junior participants must be aged between and years old. Whilst every effort is made to accommodate those with a disability or learning difficulty, or if the person in question suffers from an immune suppressant illness, due to practicalities and health and safety this cannot always be. Our experiences also include a day entry ticket or tickets, depending on the number of guests taking part.
